The book was the catalog of the exhibition of photographs entitled WOMAN, held in Melbourne in 1975. The aim of the show was to capture in about 150 photographs the diversified life of women in Australia, particularly with regard to age, race and culture. Photographers from all over the country were invited to submit entries and arrived nearly 1000 to edit. The book will continue to prove of value both as historical record and a social comment and on the other hand it provides a vivid impression of the Australian women life at that time, pointing to those changes which must be made in Australian society, if women are to take their rightful place.
