Published in a special edition in September 1977 on the occasion of the Diada (Catalan National Day) held on 11 September, a demonstration in democracy, although President Josep Tarradellas was in exile.
"One million reapers were present in Barcelona, the other million were there in spirit."
Never, until now, no matter what has been said, has the Spanish state witnessed a demonstration like the Diada. After the liberation of Paris, Sunday's was the most important demonstration in the history of Europe. The biggest demonstration of the Catalan people with more than 1,000,000 people, a great mobilisation in the streets where it was almost impossible to walk but with only one cry, Freedom!, Amnesty and Statute of Autonomy!
