Mirosław Stępniak in interviews about the days in Gdansk '80 talks about it like this: 'At the station and in the city, you couldn't see anything of what was going on in Gdansk: people were walking in the streets, it was a quiet seaside town. But there was a crowd at the shipyard. After a bit of effort and using his connections, Mirosław managed to get a pass to enter the shipyard: - You could feel that there was something great there, something indescribable. It was a fantastic experience for me when Father Jankowski said Mass in front of the gate and those loud workers' voices sang “Boże, coś Polskę”. And then it was just a matter of taking pictures."
