RETOMADA recounts the beauty, poetry, and resilience of the Guarani people as they strive to reclaim their land from agribusiness in a region of Brazil dominated by monocultures. Designed as a valuable resource, the book will be distributed to each of the 25 Guarani communities involved in the project, as well as to organizations advocating for Guarani rights.
“Retomada da Terra,” or “taking back the land,” is part of a territorial recovery movement led by the Guarani people in Brazil. This struggle is marked by violence, with dozens of Indigenous lives lost each year. It is a fight for the benefit of humanity: wherever the Guarani reclaim their land, nature is allowed to reclaim its rights.
