Instead of making a general discourse, we have preferred to collect what is essential to know, from official documents to poems of struggle. It is a contribution to better understand Vietnam; thus to better fight with Vietnam. The immediate purpose of this booklet is to help a subscription for a large technical library - a polytechnic for Vietnam.
Providing books, then, is a concrete act, d it is also a political act. we propose, with this act, to contribute to the victory in the war of liberation; and beyond a victory, which is now looming, we propose to contribute to the great battle of reconstruction and the new victory of Vietnamese independence. And we also want to repay, in a small way, the immense debt we all owe the Vietnamese people.
