Gen Z Power is a photographic documentation of the Gen Z movement in Nepal. Recorded as the fastest revolution the world has witnessed, the urgency to document the truth became undeniable. An open call was sent out to a new generation of young Nepali photographers. Produced within just two months, the book was created with an acute sense of urgency through collaboration between 28 photographers, alongside writers and editors, all belonging to the same generation. It is the first book globally to give testimony to a worldwide youth-led moment through Nepal’s perspective. The purpose of the book is to ensure that history is not written by those in power, but recorded by those who dared to resist. Gen Z Power documents events as they unfolded—beginning with the indiscriminate killing of students by state forces, the fires and chaos of the second day, the nationwide curfew, and ultimately the election of a new prime minister. This book stands as both a historical record and a testament to the transformative force of youth-led collective action. Its pages bear witness to the bravery, grief, defiance, and unity that defined an entire generation’s fight for a better future. It honors those who refused silence, confronted violence, and rose together to demand systemic change.
