The world rebelled against this coup d'état and especially in Germany, books were published to inform what happened in Santiago de Chile on 11 September 1973 and only a year later this was what was written in the book's introduction:
The night of fascist barbarism falls on free Chile. A bought clique of generals overthrows the legitimate government of the Unidad Popular. The official residence of the president elected by the people is bombed and set on fire. President Dr. Salvador Allende is assassinated. Fascist executioners are targeting the general secretary of the Chilean Communist Party, Luis Corvalan. The army is establishing a terror regime. The streets of Chilean cities are stained with the blood of tens of thousands of Unidad Popular supporters. Tanks, artillery and bombs suffocate the freedom of the people. A cry of anger and indignation runs through the world.
