On May 23, 1979, when the Federal Assembly of the Federal Republic of Germany met to appoint a former member of the Hitler party as president of the republic, workers, housewives, students, schoolchildren, people from all walks of life arrived in the federal capital from everywhere and led the protest of the rulers over a poem by Brecht. This book shows the means and subjects by which this political action achieved its surprising effect, which in turn was only possible because so many from all parts of the country contributed and, in particular, collected here what they recorded with their cameras.
