The Book of Life by Alfred Yaghobzadeh: 44 years in the life of a photojournalist, from his very first photograph taken in Tehran in 1979, right up to 2023 and the conflict in Ukraine. Some of his images have gone down in the history of photojournalism, and he won the 2023 VISA pour l’Image / Benoît Schaeffer Award. A member of the Gamma and Associated Press agencies, his photographs have been published throughout his career in magazines such as *Time*, *Newsweek*, *Stern*, *Paris Match*, *El País* and *Geo*; in 1986, he was awarded the World Press Photo prize for his coverage of the war in Lebanon.
As you leaf through the pages of the book, beyond the drama of the events, what emerges is the sheer difficulty and courage shown by Yaghobzadeh in always being there, never taking a step back, always bearing witness with his camera to tell us once again what is happening in the world.
