This rare book, despite the large number of copies printed, comprises a selection of articles, speeches delivered at conferences and meetings of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR, as well as speeches given at public events by Zianon Pazniak, People’s Deputy of the BSSR and Chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front, between 1988 and 1990. It also includes a collection of his poems.

After the start of Minsk Spring in 1996, Pazniak stated he was being hunted by security forces, but returned for Chernobyl Way where he stated he had to escape from special forces trying to capture him. Following this, he fled Belarus and claimed political asylum in the United States
