Allende's Chilean way is democratic and reformist, but of a reformism that is based on popular will and action, and this is what characterizes and distinguishes it. The opposition is fierce: on the one hand the bourgeoisie it sees in danger its economic and therefore political power; on the other hand, the extra-parliamentary revolutionary left, which does not believe in reformism, in the possibility of painless solutions.

The images that Gian Butturini proposes testify not only to the reality on which to act, but also the terrain and ways of an action destined to extend its meaning beyond the news and the everyday.

In the introduction of the book by Almachiara Dusi

Gian Butturini was an Italian reporter who photographed a lot in Chile's

seventies and his images contributed to solidarity with the Chilean struggle and with its exiles.
